Quilted Redwood Flute — F#, 432 Hz
A bold, punchy Redwood flute with a voice that can sing like a bird.
This is one of my older flutes, made from Quilted Redwood. Redwood is a relatively soft wood, but it can have an incredibly distinctive voice. This particular piece has beautiful quilted grain that gives the flute a depth and movement that is difficult to appreciate until you see it in person.
And this flute has a personality to match its appearance.
It has a bold, punchy voice with plenty of character. With minimal breath pressure, the flute responds easily and can take on an almost birdlike quality, with a clear, expressive voice that really seems to sing.
The block is made from Aromatic Cedar with Turquoise, complementing the natural character of the Redwood without overwhelming the beautiful grain of the body.
Tuned to F# at 432 Hz, this is an expressive flute with a strong, distinctive voice. It's a responsive instrument that makes it easy to move between quiet, delicate playing and a more powerful musical voice.
This is one of my older flutes, and the block adjustment on this instrument isn't reliable enough for me to recommend using it at 440 Hz. I consider this flute a 432 Hz instrument.
